The Psi chapter has the BEST sisterhood around, and that would not be true if it weren't for all the amazing women in our chapter. As another semester winds down, and we reminisce on the good, the challenging and the straight-up hilarious occurrences of the semester, let's take the time to look back at the women that the chapter voted as “Best of the Best.”
Each month, the chapter nominates members that went the extra mile to be Active, Self-reliant and Trustworthy as "Best of the Best," and the Executive Board discusses and decides which of the incredible nominees gets the award for the month. Trust me, with so many amazing sisters doing incredible things for the sorority, it’s a tough job! The selected lovely ladies receive a free pair of letters as a token of our appreciation for all their dedication to making our chapter the best that it can be!

Courtney |
February’s “Best of the Best” was junior Courtney Sewell, our treasurer. Personal finances are hard enough to deal with, but dealing with finances of 150+ girls is a saint’s job. Courtney did a great job making sure our chapter was on the right track financially, and managed to crack a joke through all of the ups and downs that accompany the position. She also created a live budget so sisters can be kept in the loop about the chapter’s finance, which had never been done before in the history of Psi. Thank you for all your hard work Courtney!
Caity |
March is peak stress time because it is the time to polish up Greek Sing performances, and juggle all those midterms and projects. Senior Caity Mclaughlin was awarded March’s “Best of the Best” not only for her hilarious sense of humor and great personality, but also for helping to choreograph Hands for Greek Sing and MC Mr. Fraternity Pageant 2013. We really appreciate Caity being so highly involved in making our chapter better from the moment she joined AST, until her very last semester. Thank you so much for your dedication Caity!
Abby |
Last but certainly not least, April’s “Best of the Best” is Abby Schimkus! Abby has done an incredible job as Greek Week Coordinator, and we really wanted to thank her for representing AST in such an amazing way! The week was a huge success and we could not be more proud to have Abby in our chapter! We loved participating in all the new events she planned out, as well as the incorporation of JMU traditions such as Madipalooza and Relay for Life to the Greek Week schedule! It was wonderful to see all her hard work and planning come to life; the next Greek Week Coordinator has some big shoes to fill! Thank you Abby!
I am so proud of all these women for the outstanding contributions to our chapter. They represent what Alpha Sigma Tau is all about!

ReplyDeleteI am so proud to call these women my sisters. Kathryn was my new member educator and I couldn't have asked for a better "mama". She truly welcomed us into the sisterhood and supported us every step of the way. Courtney made psi history by creating a live budget which is an amazing contribution. She has put so much hard work, time and energy into her position! Abby created such a fun and exciting Greek Week and represented our chapter in an active and positive light. I enjoyed watching Greek Sing especially the hands done by Caity. Our chapter is full of amazing women and I am so excited to continue the tradition.
ReplyDeleteAll these women are so inspiring! I couldn't have asked for a better momma to help with my transition into AST. Courtney handled all the financial issues so well and Caity was always willing to help me with hands! Abby did a great job planning greek week too! - Caroline Crane
