ASTumblr
Written by Cate Jensen
In today’s world, it seems that everyone
is connected through social media. Checking our Twitter handles, Facebook pages,
and Instagram accounts takes up a significant amount of our time.
These types of social platforms are also
a great way for Greek organization’s to keep their collegiate community up to
date on philanthropic efforts and community outreach events. But even within
all that great service, we like to have a little bit of fun. Our chapter historian
Meredith Carothers, along with her Omicron pledge class sisters, Kathleen
Reilly and Meredith Young, came up with the idea to add a Tumblr page to Alpha
Sigma Tau’ social media repertoire.
The top of our Tumblr page :) |
I asked Meredith to give us a little insight
as to where the idea for the Tumblr page came from, “Kathleen
Reilly gave me the idea to make it; she has some friends from up north whose
sororities have them and she showed me a few examples, and suggested we make
one for Psi [Chapter of Alpha Sigma Tau]! I think it's an awesome way for
current sisters, other chapters on campus, our alumnae, and other AST chapters
around the country to see what we're up to, and also to see fun pictures of
sisters having a great time and loving each other! It's a nice collection of
photos that hopefully show how much sisterhood means to all of us, and how AST
is involved around the community and within our own chapter!
Another preview of the Tumblr's greatness |
Since
the page’s creation just last week, pictures from sisters have been flooding
in. It is safe to say, the Tumblr was a fantastic idea. Check out Psi Till We Die Tumblr page here if you haven’t seen it yet.
